Music Submission

We often get asked about what kinds of music we accept and this should clear it all up. Because WIDR is a station dedicated to variety, we play non-mainstream music from every genre we can get our hands on. To that end, we do accept unsolicited submissions from artists, signed or unsigned. All that we require is a physical copy of your EP or album – WIDR doesn’t play singles – sent to our music director. If you could also include a list of any songs that aren’t radio clean, we’d be most grateful. If you are a local band please label your album as such, including the city your band is from, as well as a brief bio. Send to:

Joe Silver
1501 Faunce Student Services Bldg.
Kalamazoo, MI

Submission does not guarantee airplay and, due to the large volume of mail we get, nothing sent to WIDR can be returned. Further inquiries should be directed to James via e-mail at

I forwarded SUCKERPUSH’s cd “Reminiscing” to you a couple of weeks ago. SUCKERPUSH is a local independent band with a good groove going. The reviews for this cd have been positive with a little bit of something for everyone’s musical tastes. When you have a moment, we would like to know what you think and if we could get some air time on WIDR.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

Hi Tamra. The best way to get a hold of Kevin is to e-mail him directly at the address given above. He almost never checks the comments on the site, as it’s not part of his job, so dropping him notes here is likely to reach him in a timely fashion. Good luck with your new CD!
