Swedish rapper Pradaaslife and Swedish producer Silver recently combined talents on a new full-length album entitled Die Down. The two have often worked together in the past, more so in the past year, and both are closely tied to the Swedish rap collective Scrap Club. On this new project, Silver continues with familiar production featuring catchy synth melodies, guitar loops, hard-hitting 808s and trap-inspired drums. The beats vary noticeably when Silver employs the help of other producers. On this album additional production comes from filip, april21, and methboiswag, among others. Pradaaslife’s distinct voice and signature autotuned vocals compliment the head-nodding rhythms and make for a crisp and infectious sound. A lot of Pradaaslife fanbase comes from soundcloud, and this album as a “soundcloud album” stands out among the sea of low-effort, poorly mixed music on the site. Die Down comes towards the end of the year and marks three full-length projects for the Stockholm rapper. With such prolific output the projects are predictably formulaic, but with a winning formula any fan of Pradaaslife (myself included) would only hope the trend continues into 2024. It has been cold in Kalamazoo! The weather has been so bad that we had to postpone our WIDR Wonderland all-nidr. No need to worry, THIS FRIDAY (1/19) tune in from 7pm until 7am Saturday morning to special winter programming! MAB finalists were announced and WIDR has two nominations! Congrats to Dan Hubble for his nomination in the Promotional Announcement category and the WIDR Social Media team for their nomination in the Use of Social Media category. Happy New Year WIDR-ites! We are so excited to be back at the student center and in the studio. Hopefully you had a restful break and are ready for the WIDR WINTER WONDERLAND ALL NIDR! This Friday (1/10) enjoy special winter programming from 7pm until 7am on Saturday January 11th. This programing is to raise money for the 2024 Intercollegiate Broadcast Systems Conference and Awards happening in New York, New York this February! WIDR is nominated for 9 IBS awards. Last year, WIDR had two nominations, and took home a first place award! This week the Michigan Association of Broadcasters 2024 Student Award nominations should be announced. Last year the Promotion Director and Assistant went to Lansing, Michigan for the conference and awards.
